Savoir Bedding - Pillow adviceSupport
The right pillow combination is essential to provide comfort in bed, whether sleeping or sitting up to read or watch television. When lying down, your neck and head require support. You will (unless your bed is a board, in which case visit Savoir Beds!) sink in to your bed to some extent, but your mattress is unlikely to accommodate the step between shoulder and neck while you sleep on your side or back. Side sleepers, particularly those with broad shoulders, tend to need more depth and may prefer two pillows. Back sleepers tend to require less depth (or something softer), with the least required for front sleepers.

When sitting up, you will require support in your lower back as headboards tend to be close to vertical, and we don’t quite bend that way.

Of course, we all change positions during the night, and we are all different shapes and sizes, so it is very personal.

Comfort
How much you like to sink in, how much you like to cosseted within as opposed to on top will determine what works in terms of firm or soft. For softies, nothing beats premier goose down, while feather and wool add a firmer feel. If you need depth of support but like a luxurious feel, try a soft premier goose down pillow on a firmer pillow, say a feather & down.

Sizes
The sizes you choose will depend on the size of your bed and the look you like. If you share a bed, make sure the combined pillow widths will fit. Standard pillows may look a little lost on a super king size bed.
