Thread Count
The thread count gives an indication of how fine the linen is. It measure the number of threads per inch, and the greater the number the finer the feel of the fabric. Percale is used to describe thread counts above 200. The linens on Savoir Bedding have a thread count of 400.

Sizes
Bed sizes are not totally standard, and metric and imperial equivalents are never identical, so do not be surprised if you cannot find exact matches. Fortunately, there is some play in most items. The key is to measure your bed, duvet and pillows and not to rely totally on descriptors such as “king size” as definitions vary between retailers and countries. Savoir Bedding uses a consistent set of names and sizes throughout, but this will not match with every other supplier’s definitions. For example, in the UK a king size bed is defined by the UK’s National Bed Federation as 5’0 x 6’6 (approx.150 x 200cm), but some retailers call this Queen (as it is close to a Queen in the US). In New York a king size is 6’4 x 6’8 (approx. 193 x 203cm), and in LA it is 6’0 x 7’0 (approx. 183 x 213cm).

Flat Sheets
Allow enough on top of the bed size for the depth of the mattress and to tuck underneath. Thus, if your mattress is 150 x 200cm, 20cm deep and you like 15cm of tuck, the flat sheet will need to be at least 220 x 270cm.

Fitted Sheets
These should be approximately the same size as your mattress, although the elasticated gusset provides some give. If your mattress is more than 1.5” / 4cm bigger than a fitted sheet dimension you will begin to struggle when making you bed. The fitted sheets on Savoir Bedding allow for a mattress of up to 10” / 30cm deep.
